Description of Product: Amorphous soda-lime glass derived from variously coloured recycled glass containers. Milled and produced in the U.K. to PAS 102.

1/USE OF PRODUCT

Main applications – non-exhaustive list: Filtration media for use in industrial and commercial process filters: blasting grit for a variety of structural surfaces, fibre glass production: aggregate in construction industry mortars and coatings: decorative usage on paths etc.

2. COMPOSITION / INFORMATION ON INGREDIENTS

Chemical: Amorphous Sodium Silicate Glass (Typical and approximate oxide analysis: SiO2 – 72%: Na2O-13%: CaO – 11.0% : MgO – 2 % : Al2O3 – 2%) Specific supplies may vary marginally from the above analysis subject to the mix and makeup of the recycled glass being processed into Durafilter material.

3. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION

No significant health or environmental hazards.

4. FIRST AID MEASURES

Skin contact: If skin irritation arises from usage, wash the affected area with soapy water and rinse clean.
Eye Contact: Bathe the eye immediately with running water with eyelids held open until particles are removed or
irritation ceases. If irritation persists seek medical attention.
Inhalation: Exposure to dust from usage processes may irritate mucous membranes and, if this occurs, move away from the dust contamination to an open air or well-ventilated sector. If symptoms worsen or persist, seek medical attention.
Ingestion: Durafilter is non-toxic but swallowing large quantities will cause physical discomfort and can be dangerous. In the case of light dust being ingested, wash out mouth with plenty of fresh water. If larger quantities ingested, seek urgent medical attention.

5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES
Extinguishing media: Durafilter is non-combustible and is not an explosion hazard. Standard extinguishing media can be utilized as appropriate for any fire in the vicinity of this material
Specific Hazards: Avoid airborne dust by the use of self-contained breathing apparatus or other protective masks as may be deemed appropriate.

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Personal Precautions: In the likelihood of exposure to airborne dust, wear suitable respiratory protection.
Clean-up procedures: Durafilter spillages can be swept up by brush or removed by vacuuming. If sweeping use
water to dampen spillage in order to minimize dust formation. If not contaminated by contact with hazardous material, any such spillage can be recycled or sent to landfill.

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE
Handling Requirements: Always utilize suitable and adequate personal protection equipment/clothing including
gloves/overalls/masks/goggles as may be appropriate to the process involved. Minimize dust generation where
possible. Ensure adequate ventilation in process locations
Storage Conditions: Store in dry conditions.

8. EXPOSURE CONTROL AND PERSONAL PROTECTION

batch content.

10. STABILITY AND REACTIVITY
Stability: Stable under normal conditions. No known hazardous reactivity with any other material. No hazardous
decomposition.

11. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION
Toxicity Values: Durafilter material is non-toxic.
Long Term Exposure: No known detrimental effects from long term or repeated exposure.

12. ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION
General: No known environmentally damaging effects from spillage or through landfill disposal.
Mobility: Non-volatile, insoluble in water.
Degradability: Non-biodegradable but, in the processed powder or granular form, there are no indications of toxicity or harm that would adversely affect any environmental consideration.

13. DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS
Product Disposal: The material can be recycled or landfilled in accordance with relevant regulations.
Where possible, recycling is recommended. In both cases care should be taken to ensure that the material has not
been cross-contaminated by contact with any hazardous material during usage or disposal operations.
Packaging Disposal: PVC bags and pallets should be disposed of in accordance with relevant regulations.
